Happy New Year! I have fantastic feelings for 2007. In conjunction with the beginning of this calendar year I am very excited to begin a new and powerful series of work. This series will focus on women that have overcome great odds to rise to the top and have become inspirational icons to many. I am currently working on a portrait of Tina Turner and plan to move onto Linda Carter as Wonder Woman from there. I am researching other women to be in this series. Women are amazing in a myriad of ways but are often overlooked as second class citizens. While we have made progress towards equality, this is still an unfortunate truth and is apparent when you ackowledge such factors as the struggle to be paid equally in the job world as well as the enormous number of sex crimes that continue to take place. By documenting known women of strength as a group, I hope to make the undeniable beauty and power of women as obvious to others as it is to me. Keep an eye out for developments on this body of work!
